2012 CAMPER SCHOLARSHIP APPEAL

Make a difference - send a child to camp!

Joy of Living Camp has been providing disadvantaged and at-risk children and youth with a summer camp experience since 1993 - but ONLY with the help of hundreds of friends just like you. With your help we're able to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with children and families whom society often forgets.

Joy of Living leaves no child out because of their inability to pay; but, that doesn't mean camp is free. The cost for one bunk for one week of camp is $330. Reaching our scholarship goal of $60,000 will make every Joy of Living bunk available for a camper and provide some much needed improvements for our summer program.

Can you help bring a kid to camp? Your help at any level will make a great difference in the life of a child. You can make a scholarship contribution online by clicking on our PayPal link, or by sending your gift directly to Joy of Living, PO Box 338, Brinkhaven, OH 43006. Have questions? Want to know more? Thankful Upon Every Remembrance of You...

Morning has become my favorite time at Camp.  I often rise well before dawn, and coffee mug in hand, make my way out onto the beautiful example of God's creation that is Joy of Living Camp.  Navigating carefully over the uneven ground, I relish the briskness of the morning... the solitude and quietness of my surroundings.  I breath deeply the cold air and try to separate the difference between my eyes becoming adjusted to the dark and dawn breaking over the camp.  At last, though, the rising sun reveals the grounds before me.  What a glorious time of day!  God is so clearly seen in everything around me.  The creation speaks loudly the praise of our God!

I wish every person who has ever heard the name "Joy of Living Ministries" could see it as I in these special moments.  I stand looking over the river thinking of those who make ministry here possible:  the volunteers, the service groups, the financial supporters, those who pray so faithfully...  It is they who make ministry here at the pointed end of the sword possible.  It is their loyalty that enables needy children to come to camp.  It is they that makes possible the counselor leading the camper in the sinner's prayer.  It is their heart that beats loudly in the mission of Joy of Living Ministries.  I am overwhelmed with gratefulness.

2 Corinthians 9:7  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
